Functional prototypes
Iterate real, testable parts in days, not weeks — check fit, form and function before you commit to tooling.
[ 01 / The process ]
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) builds a part by extruding engineering thermoplastic layer by layer. It is the most cost-effective 3D printing process for functional parts — strong, dimensionally stable, and available in materials that stand up to heat, impact, chemicals and outdoor use.
At MYPRUS we run FDM as a production line, not a hobby printer: calibrated machines, controlled first layers, and a dimensional check on every order before it ships. Send an STL or STEP file and you get measured numbers back — not a guess.
[ 02 / What we make ]
Iterate real, testable parts in days, not weeks — check fit, form and function before you commit to tooling.
Custom assembly jigs, inspection fixtures and manufacturing aids that pay for themselves on the shop floor.
Low-volume production parts, housings and brackets in engineering-grade thermoplastics.
Discontinued or hard-to-source components reproduced from a sample, a drawing or a 3D scan.
[ 03 / Why MYPRUS ]
Multiple machines under one roof mean capacity for batches and repeatable results from the same tuned print profiles.
We flag thin walls, weak print orientations and warping risks before we print — and advise the fix.
Wall count, infill and orientation are set for how your part is actually loaded, not a one-size default.
As-printed, sanded and primed, or painted to a reference colour — tell us the finish you need.
[ 04 / Materials ]
Not sure which to choose? Tell us how the part is used and we'll recommend one — see full per-material properties and indicative per-cm³ rates on the Specs & Pricing page.
Economical, sharp-detail concept models and low-stress parts.
Tough, weather- and chemical-resistant — the everyday functional workhorse.
Heat and impact resistance for enclosures and under-hood parts.
Flexible, grippy parts — living hinges, seals, bumpers and gaskets.
[ 05 / Questions ]
FDM is priced per cm³ of material used, plus print time, infill and finish. A small functional part typically starts low, and batch orders earn volume discounts. Upload your file for an exact, itemised quote — indicative per-cm³ rates are published on our Specs & Pricing page.
PLA for looks and low cost, PETG for tough weather-resistant parts, ABS for heat and impact resistance, and TPU when you need flex. Not sure? Tell us how the part is used and we'll recommend the right one.
STL and STEP are ideal. We also work from OBJ or 3MF — or from a photo and dimensions if you don't have a model yet and need one designed.
Strong enough for functional use — jigs, fixtures, enclosures and many end-use parts. Real strength depends on material, infill and print orientation, all of which we tune for how your part is loaded.
Yes. We're based in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, and courier FDM parts across India. Local customers are also welcome to collect from the studio.
Send an STL/STEP or a photo and we'll reply within 24 hours with a measured quote and a free design-for-manufacturing check.
